Welcome to the official site of ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA. Our company was created in 2007 in Calvert, Alabama, by the ThyssenKrupp Group of companies to build and operate the newest, technologically advanced stainless steel processing facilities around the globe.
We are pleased to announce the start of production at our new world class facilities in October 2010. Along with our sister facility, Mexinox, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, we are able to serve our customers in the North American market like never before. In addition to the quality and customer service for which the ThyssenKrupp Group has historically been known, our new state-of-the-art facilities are designed with greatly enhanced logistical efficiencies and promise just-in-time delivery to better serve our North American customers.
The $5 billion project is a cooperative effort among two business areas of the ThyssenKrupp Materials division, creating a unique production partnership that allows for cost-sharing in areas such as infrastructure, logistics and processing. Our sister company, ThyssenKrupp Steel USA, started production for its carbon steel facilities in Summer 2010. When fully operational, both companies will provide the NAFTA market with 5.1 million metric tons of high quality, value-added products for customers in the appliance, pipe and tube, commercial food preparation, service center, automotive and construction industries, among others.
